Customer service is vital to Style Arc. Our aim is to ensure you are satisfied and give you a shopping experience that is convenient, easy and enjoyable.

GST / taxes

A charge of 10% GST is included in the retail price shown. This is charged to customers with an Australian address only. No GST is charged for international orders.


Currency

All prices are shown in Australian dollars. You can change currency through currency selector placed at the shopping cart and checkout pages. Conversions are displayed for informational purposes only. All transactions are completed in Australian Dollars (AUD.


Deliveries / Shipping

Shipping Terms

We aim to despatch orders within two working days. We send deliveries by Australia Post to both Australian and international customers. All patterns are printed to order in Melbourne Australia – during periods of high volume (usually at the start of the month or when new products are released) despatch times can be a little longer than two working days. Factoring in printing, processing and delivery, Australian customers should receive their goodies within 10 business days. Most international customers should receive their orders within 15 business days. Unfortunately, sometimes international deliveries can take 30 days, depending on how busy the postal service is and the discretion of the local customs officers. Please be patient! Please get in touch if you have any concerns about your delivery.

If you are concerned about shipping times, you may wish to try our digital PDF patterns. For digital pattern purchases, files are delivered to you immediately via email, but you do need to print the pattern at home or in the office and stick the pattern tiles (sometimes there are lots of them!) together to form the full pattern.

How much does shipping cost?

Shipping is calculated based on the weight of your order. The best way to check postage costs is to add products to the cart and go to the checkout. Once your address details are entered, the shipping cost will be shown.

Note that if a country imposes customs duties, import tax or other fees at the border, these are your responsibility as the customer. When you buy a product from overseas you are considered the importer of that product. If you have any concerns about customs or import restrictions, please contact your local customs office. This is particularly relevant for fabric orders!

Returns

General

If the product you receive is damaged on arrival or we have sent the wrong product, we will refund both the product and postage fee (if applicable). Please see the refund and return policies for specific product categories below.

Fabric

Once fabric has been cut, we do not offer refunds or exchange for incorrect purchases. If you are unsure of any property of the fabric offered for sale including, but not limited to, style, stretch, composition, colour, pattern or weight, please contact us before purchasing. While every effort is made to correctly represent the colour of our fabrics in our online store, colour may vary between computer monitors due to the type of the monitor, viewing angle and monitor settings. If precise colour is critical to you, please contact us before purchasing fabric.

Paper Patterns

Patterns in their original state with the seal unbroken can be returned or exchanged up to 14 days after they have been delivered to you. Items should be returned in their original packaging with the receipt enclosed to:

Digital Patterns

How do I buy Style Arc digital patterns?

Style Arc PDF patterns are digital PDF files. They are delivered instantly to the email address you provided. Nothing physical is shipped to you!

We email you the size that you ordered, plus the two nearest sizes, just in case! You’ll be able to see the size in the product name. Note that there is a different file for each size; the sizes are not nested.

If you haven’t received your patterns please check your SPAM or JUNK folder. Sometimes emails from unexpected addresses can be filtered out by your mail system. If you still can’t find your pattern files, please contact us and we’ll look into it.

What do I get when I buy a digital pattern?

Style Arc PDF patterns are formatted for printing on A4 or US Letter size paper. They can be printed at home or in the office!

Each patterns file contains the following:

  • A few pages of construction instructions;
  • Some instructions on how to put your PDF pattern together;
  • A schematic, or layout, sheet showing how the pattern tiles should be arranged to form your complete pattern; and
  • A number of pattern tile pages that you need to print. Beware! Sometimes there can be a lot of pattern tiles for printing. We list the number of tiles in the product description. Get in touch with us if you are worried about how many pages need to be printed.

Once printed the patterns tiles need to be cut out and stuck together. It’s like putting a jigsaw together. Once the pattern tiles are stuck together you will have your complete pattern! It’s not for everyone, but you will get receive your patterns immediately and there are no shipping costs!

How do I know if my digital pattern has printed out correctly?

Your pattern has printed out correctly if the outer edges of the "test square" measures 10 cm (or 3 15/16”) and the outer edge of the red rectangle on each pattern tile page measures 9.5 inches by 6.5 inches (24.1 cm x 16.5 cm). If you don't get these measurements check your printer settings and try again!

If you're having trouble getting your printed copies to match these sizes, try these steps:

  1. Save the pattern file (rather than opening it up using a viewer within a browser). To keep it simple you can just save it to your desktop, if you like.
  2. Open the pattern file in Adobe Acrobat Reader.
  3. Try printing out just one of the pattern pages (one with the red rectangles). When the print dialogue box opens up you will have to look through the printer settings to make sure there is NO SCALING going on.
  4. Each printer is different unfortunately! On my computer I'm able to set "Custom Scale" to 100%. Some others are able to choose "Actual Size" or "no scaling" or set page scaling to "None". You should also select "Auto portrait/landscape".
  5. If the red rectangle on the pattern tile pages measures 9.5 inches by 6.5 inches you've printed your pattern correctly!
