Sew the 3-hem darts that are marked on each of the lower skirts and press towards the centre. Sew an edge stitch close to the seam of the darts.

With right sides facing sew the top skirt to the lower skirt, overlock/serge the seam and press upwards.

Sew a 6mm (¼”) topstitch on top of the seam.

Sew one set of pockets to the front side seam where marked on the pattern (A-A), clip at the notches and understitch close to the seam on the side of the pocket.

Sew the second set of pockets to the pockets that are sewn to the front side seam stitch the two pocket bags together creating a pocket (B-B)

The straight edge of the under pocket is left free to sew to the back side seam.

Neaten the outer edge of the pocket bag with an overlocker/serger.

Secure each end of the pocket with a stay stitch.

With right sides facing sew the side seams of the front and back skirts together, start at the waist and stitch through the back pocket seam taking care not to catch the front pocket whilst sewing. Overlock/serge the seams and press towards the back.

With right sides facing sew the two short ends of the waistband together and press the seam open. Fold the waistband in half lengthways with wrong sides together and press.

Cut the elastic to your personal length, lay one edge over the other and securely stitch together.

Sandwich the elastic inside the waistband and sew a stay stitch around the two cut edges of the waistband.

Even the elastic out by pulling taut and releasing then sew a vertical stitch through the waistband and elastic at the centre back, side seams and centre front to stop the elastic from rolling.

With right sides facing sew the waistband to the waist of the skirt using a zipper foot so you can stitch close to the elastic.

Neaten with an overlocker/serger and press downwards.

Overlock/serge the hem, turn the hem to the inside and machine stitch down.

Press your new skirt.
