CONSTRUCTION:
Sew the back waist darts. Press toward the centre back.
With RST sew the front to back at the side seams. Neaten using an overlocker/ serger and press toward the back.
With RST sew the front to back at the in-leg seams. Neaten with an overlocker/serger and press toward the back.
With RST sew the crotch seams together. Start at the back waist, sew down to the base of the crotch then continue sewing up the front crotch finishing at the front waist. Neaten with an overlocker/serger and press to one side.
Neaten the waist using an overlocker/serger.
Cut the elastic to your preferred length or refer to the measurement chart. Lay one end of the elastic on top of the opposite end and sew together securely.
Turn the top edge of the pant 4cm (1 1/2”) to the inside and press, creating a waistband.
With the elastic on the inside, fold the top of the waistband over the elastic and carefully pin into place, maintaining the fold.
Top stitch the waistband into place, taking care to not sew the elastic. You may choose to use a zipper presser foot and a twin needle.
Sew a ditch stitch to the waist at the side seams and centre front and back, to keep the elastic in place.
Neaten the hems of the legs using an overlocker/serger. Turn the hems to the inside to your personal length and sew into place using a top stitch or blind stitch.
Trim any loose threads and carefully press your new pants.
