With wrong sides facing, press the top edge seam allowance (1cm/3/8”) of the patch pocket to the inside. Then with right sides facing, fold the top edge of the pocket over, following the fold line on the pattern. Sew down
each side of the turnover, clip the corners and turn the pocket out to the right side and press.

Edge stitch along the inner folded edge to hold the turn back in place.

Fold the remaining outer edges of the pocket towards the inside and press.

Pin the pockets to the back legs as marked on the pattern. Once in place stitch the pocket to the back legs with an edge stitch, securing the top corners with a reinforcing stitch.

With right sides together sew one set of the pockets marked “A” to the front side seam marked “A” on the pattern, clip at the notches and understitch close to the seam on the side of the pocket bag.

With right sides together sew the second set of pockets to the pockets that are sewn to the front side seam, stitch the two pocket bags together creating a pocket “B” to “B”, note that the straight edge of the under pocket is left free to sew to the back-body’s side.

Neaten the outer edge of the pocket with overlocker/serger. Note: The pocket will be completed in N08.

With right sides together sew the front side seam to the to the back side seam, start sewing the seams together at the waist, sew down the side seam stitching through the straight edge of the back pocket as you sew, be careful not to catch the front pocket opening and continue sewing the side seam down to the hem. Neaten with an overlocker/serger and press towards the front.

With right sides together sew the front in leg seam to the back in leg seam. Neaten with an overlocker/serger and press towards the back.

With right sides together sew the crotch seams together, start at the waistline of the front and stitch down to the crotch/leg junction and continue sewing up the back finishing at the back waistline. Neaten with an overlocker/serger and press to one side.

PANT ONLY: With right sides facing sew the short ends of the back leg hem band to the front leg hem band, press the seam open. Turn out to the right side and press in half lengthways. Sew a stay stitch the two cut edges of the hem band to hold in place.

With right sides facing sew the hem bands to the legs of the pant matching the seams and notches as you sew. Neaten with an overlocker/serger and press the seam upwards. Sew an edge stitch on the side of the pant leg.

SHORT ONLY: Press 1cm (3/8”) of the leg opening inward (to neaten) then turn the hem at the hem notch and pin in place, then stitch the hem.

ELASTIC WAIST:

Cut the elastic to your personal length. Lay one end of the elastic on top of the opposite end and stitch together securely.

With the elastic on the inside, pin one edge of the elastic to the top edge of the waist. Once in place overlock/serge the elastic to the top of the waist (or sew with a stretch stitch), stretching the elastic as you sew.

Turn the elastic to the inside and pin in place. Topstitch the overlocked/serged edge of the elastic to the waist stretching the elastic as you sew.

Press your new pant.
