With right sides facing sew angled edge of the pocket to the angle pocket seam on the front leg, sew a flat stitch close to the seam on the side of the pocket, press this seam and sew a 6mm (¼”) topstitch to the pocket opening.

Fold the pocket along the fold line and with right sides facing sew across the base of the pocket and neaten with an overlocker/serger.

Pin the pocket to the waist line and the side seam, once in place stitch down with a stay stitch.

With right sides facing sew the crotch seams, start sewing at the front waistline, stitch down to the in leg seam, then continue sewing the back crotch seams together finishing at the back waist. Neaten with an overlocker/serger and press towards the left.

WAISTBAND:

Sew two button holes to one side of the waistband as marked on the pattern.

With right sides facing sew the two short ends of the centre back waistband together and press open

Cut the waist elastic to your personal length, lay the short ends over each other and stitch firmly together.

Set the elastic up inside the folded waistband, even out the elastic around the waistband by stretching the elastic out and pinning the elastic to the waistband.

Topstitch the waistband with the elastic on the inside, refer to the rows of stitching marked on the pattern.

Sew a stay stitch around the base of the waistband.

Sew the seams of the waistband to the waist of the pant. Neaten the waistband seams with an overlocker/serger.

Cut the cuff elastic to your personal length, lay the short ends over each other and stitch firmly together.

Neaten the leg opening with an overlocker/serger. Set the elastic inside the folded cuff, even out the elastic around the cuff by stretching the elastic out and pinning the elastic to the leg.

Topstitch the cuff with the elastic on the inside, refer to the rows of stitching marked on the pattern.

Cut the length of grosgrain to your personal length, using a safety pin thread the braid through one buttonhole, around channel exiting at the opposite buttonhole.

Lightly press your new pant.
