Same great patterns.
Now fully supported.
Thoughtfully designed patterns deserve equally thoughtful instructions. We’re bringing more of our pattern room knowledge to your sewing, so you can complete your garment with confidence and feel great wearing it.

Great patterns.
Great instructions.
We want you to love more than the look of a Style Arc pattern. We want you to feel supported while you make it, and proud when you put it on.
You’ve told us where you need more help, and we’ve taken that seriously. Our team has been working hard to make our instructions clearer and more useful, with the same care we bring to designing and developing our patterns.
Our industry background remains at the heart of Style Arc. What’s changing is how we share that knowledge: explaining more, showing more and helping you understand the next step, rather than leaving you to work it out alone.
More than a new name.
Your Instruction Pack is the guide to the garment you’re making. It brings the design, preparation and sewing information together, with expanded explanations and illustrations alongside the steps.
Understand the design
Design details, Patternmaker’s Fit Notes, finished garment measurements and a skills overview help you get to know the style before you begin.
Prepare your project
The shopping list, pattern-piece information and cutting layouts help you gather what you need and prepare for cutting.
Follow the construction
Numbered steps and accompanying illustrations explain the sewing sequence, with more involved techniques broken into smaller stages.
Check as you go
Checkpoints help you review your work. Supporting tutorial links and QR codes, where included, give you another way to follow a technique.
Two guides to keep beside you.
Alongside the garment-specific Instruction Pack, we’ve created two supporting guides. These cover the information you’ll use across projects, whether you’re new to sewing, new to Style Arc or looking for a reminder.
Your Guide to Style Arc Patterns
Your starting point for choosing a size, understanding body and finished measurements, adjusting length and blending between sizes.
How to Read Your Style Arc Pattern
A guide to the markings, symbols and terms on your pattern pieces, from cutting lines and grainlines to notches, darts, pleats and pocket positions.
How the three documents work together
Start with Part 1 to prepare. Keep Part 2 nearby to check an unfamiliar marking. Follow your garment’s Instruction Pack for its measurements, requirements, cutting layouts and sewing sequence.

Where we’re heading.
We’re putting the same care into our instructions as we do into our patterns. By sharing more of the knowledge from our pattern room, we want to help you understand each stage of the make.
The update is gradual. Not every pattern in our back catalogue has the new Instruction Pack yet. You’ll see both formats while this work continues.
Will the guide come with my order?
Your Guide to Style Arc Patterns will be included with orders containing a new release, bonus release or re-release in the new format.
Do I need to print everything?
No. Keep the guides on your device or print the pages you need. They’re reusable references.
Thank you for sewing with us.
We’re putting a great deal of care into this work, and your experience matters.
