I dropped a size to a Wt and didn’t bother with a FBA. I love style Arc patterns. This was a quick easy make. I like the side panel and the rib bands. This will be my go to sweater dress!

This is my first Style Arc pattern and I loved it! I made a sweatshirt dress (using 18-30 pattern). I got the pockets on upside down and backwards so I had to rip them out but that was inattention on my part and nothing to do with the pattern or instructions. As a tall, robust gal, I am thankful for patterns with style and proportions that fit me! I love the Anderson knit dress and wear my maroon one proudly. I can’t wait to make another one; maybe I’ll add a kangaroo pocket to make it a little different too.

i made two of these dresses in a soft waffle knit. i love the loose fit, which works very well for my day job (seamstress!) and evenings at home. Even though i consider myself an advanced sewist, the lack of clear instructions was frustrating. I had to do some trial and error in construction–especially the pockets. i prefer a longer length, so i just lengthened the bottom and eliminated the high-low aspect. i straightened out most of the side curve, since my hips are wide enough without the added attention. yes,, it is generously oversized, so on the multi-size pattern i cut out the shoulders as a size 10 and then moved out to the size 12 by the bust. next time, i will probably just use a total size 10.

I made one in French terry to pull on when I let the dog out first thing in the morning. It is comfortable and surprisingly smart looking. I plan to make a more sedate version for casual work days. It went together easily. I don’t think novices will need much on the way of instructions. It’s a quick project.

my daughter asked me to make this for her. first time since she was 4 that she has wanted me to make her anything! she is now 34. I have made loads of SA dresses for myself so happy with sizing for myself. But this one worked out a little big for her, but luckily the style suits the oversized look. even for her the arms were a little long. now looking for suitable fabric to make her another one, so that shows she is pleased with it too. I have since made her the Hope dress too.

I haven’t made the dress yet because I am an advanced beginner and there are no instructions. I love the drafting of the pattern, but I need instructions.
I might have to use another pattern I have for the basics.

Love the style- I shorten it a bit to suit my frame. Drafting is great,
I’m giving three stars because instructions are extremely lacking. I’ve had free patterns which include photos of placement and pinning and step by step instructions. I’ve had to rip out multiple seams because I had to guess on a few things and just figure it out.
I’m not sure I’d buy anymore patterns because of that honestly.

Its a good pattern, I’ve made 2 items, one a dress with a stand collar but without the bottom band or wrist bands. The other one I’ve made as a tunic, shorten it under bust about 8 cm, and sewn all the bands and make the neckband as was in the pattern. The only “negative” is that is really big, I’ve ordered my usual size 12, but made size 10 and I wish I’ve ordered size 10 so I could go for size 8. Really lovely pattern, will make more for the winter time

This is the third SA pattern for me to make in as many weeks. Again, great drafting. I should have made a petite bodice sdjustment but as the other two patterns were spot on, size wise, I just made it straight up. I’ll adjust the pattern for the next make. Now excuse me while I puruse the website for my next make……

Very good pattern! Love the fit!
All worjed good, except all the ribbing bands which I shortened a bit.
Toller Pullover, leicht zu nähen und sitzt klasse. Nur die Taschen lasse ich weg, die beuteln mir zu sehr.

How Do I Know What Size I Am?
Choosing your pattern size is the most important step and we will help you determine this with these easy to follow steps.
When taking your measurements ensure that you take them against your skin and not over clothing. One can wear a comfortable bra and knickers whilst measuring, as this will provide you with the most accurate measurements.
Tape measure has to sit firmly around the points you are measuring. But be careful not to pull it too tight, as this will give you the incorrect size.
When measuring circumferences (B, C, D, E) it is important to note that the tape measure must remain parallel to the floor. It is sometimes best to take the measurements in front of a mirror; this will help you see the angle of the tape measure.
You will only require the basic body measurements to determine your pattern size which is indicated on our mannequin below:
A. Shoulder Breadth
Place the tape at the edge of the shoulder. Measure along the top of the shoulder blade/across the highest point of the shoulders to the other edge, following the natural slope and allow an extra finger for ease of any movement.
B. Upper Arm Girth
This point is taken as a circumference at your widest point of your upper arm.
C. Bust
This point is taken as a circumference parallel to the floor at the fullest part of your chest.
D. Waist
This point is taken as a circumference and taken at the smallest part of your waist.
E. Hip
This point is taken as a circumference parallel to the floor at the widest part of your hips.
