This is now my go to top for warmer weather. It’s so much better than a basic tee, which I would be wearing if I didn’t have the Courtney. I love everything about it.

I made the same size for knit and woven. Since I’m curvy, the knit is a little tighter than the line drawing shows, but I didn’t want a baggy top. I did a FBA for the woven fabric so I didn’t have to print up a second size. There may be fewer that expected instructions, but it was still very easy to put together.

A perfectly drafted pattern that comes together easily. I did get confused about how to fold & stitch the sleeve cuffs, but was helped by an online video. I used bias tape for my first neck bind as I ran out of fabric. Second one I only had enough fabric to make one bias strip for the neck bind, so I did it very carefully, machine basting it on before overlocking. It looks great. I want to make a third out of linen, as this top is so light & comfortable to wear. Instead of gathers, I did two small pleats. I appreciated all the comments about “sizing down”, here & elsewhere. I did & was very happy with the fit.

As always StyleArc patterns are a joy to make up. This top can be worn relaxed or dressed up. Mine is a 50% Linen 50% Cotton knit which I thought was well suited to the pattern. This was a size 8 which is always my starting size with SA patterns.

I think this top is great! Very few instructions so, as a beginner I spent a lot of time Googling how to do things but, it wasn’t to challenging. I shortened the top 3 inches and wish I would have made the next smaller!

A well-drafted pattern that is easy to read, understand and assemble. The shape of the top is a classic easy-fitting t-shirt, while the little details such as the gather on the back yoke, front style lines and sleeve cuff elevate the top to more fashionable heights. Can be made up in knits and wovens – a staple item!

Easy to assemble the pdf, and straightforward garment to sew. Impeccably drafted. This design is perfect for stripes, and the little detail of the gathers at the back yoke is lovely.

How Do I Know What Size I Am?

Choosing your pattern size is the most important step and we will help you determine this with these easy to follow steps.

  1. When taking your measurements ensure that you take them against your skin and not over clothing. One can wear a comfortable bra and knickers whilst measuring, as this will provide you with the most accurate measurements.
  2. Tape measure has to sit firmly around the points you are measuring. But be careful not to pull it too tight, as this will give you the incorrect size.
  3. When measuring circumferences (B, C, D, E) it is important to note that the tape measure must remain parallel to the floor. It is sometimes best to take the measurements in front of a mirror; this will help you see the angle of the tape measure.
  4. You will only require the basic body measurements to determine your pattern size which is indicated on our mannequin below:
A. Shoulder Breadth

Place the tape at the edge of the shoulder. Measure along the top of the shoulder blade/across the highest point of the shoulders to the other edge, following the natural slope and allow an extra finger for ease of any movement.

B. Upper Arm Girth

This point is taken as a circumference at your widest point of your upper arm.

C. Bust

This point is taken as a circumference parallel to the floor at the fullest part of your chest.

D. Waist

This point is taken as a circumference and taken at the smallest part of your waist.

E. Hip

This point is taken as a circumference parallel to the floor at the widest part of your hips.
