this shirt is pretty big and breezy, but pretty straightforward to make. this was my first collar and I found the instructions pretty confusing and had to supplement with a youtube video, but otherwise this is was pretty easy to made and I don’t hate the results!

I made this in a Voile and it turned out cute. It’s a little too roomy in the abdominal area but it’s nice on a hot day. This is only the second or third Style Arc pattern I’ve made. I’m learning to make sure I know a skill (darts, collars, etc) before I buy as the instructions are vague at best.

Stand collars have always eluded me. I was hoping that the Hayward Tunic would prove different. Even with precise cutting, marking, and stitching, the collar didn’t look right. I undid all the work and reapplied the collar without the stand, resulting in a camp shirt collar. I also shortened the shirt about 3 inches. The Hayward has already become a favorite!

Love this pattern although I should have made the smaller size – it is quite big – comes together so easily and really looks great. I know this is going to be my go to top now.
