This is a two in one pattern. Both patterns share the deep yoke, extended shoulder line, neat revere collar and pocket flaps. The easy fit button through dress has side splits and falls below the knee.
Wear it with sneakers for a casual look or high heel pump for a more formal occasion. The square shaped shirt has all the details of the dress and is the new length which sits on the high hip.
Fabric Suggestion
Linen, crepe, silk, rayon.

Great pattern, made a dress in a linen blend. Going to go hunting in my stash to make a shirt.

brilliant pattern, made the shirt in viscose linen blend, but added about 5 inches to make it hip length, and the dress in cotton sateen with no changes, both fit beautifully. Then made a 2nd dress in Viscose challis ommiting the back pleat, and works equally well, interested that someone increased the arm length to make a full sleeve, i think i will have a go at this, as the sleeves were a bit of a chore for me in viscos challis fabric, think this dress requires a heavier weight fabric. will definately make again, in both shirt and dress varieties, with increased sleeve this time for some variation.

I made the shirt. This was a terrific pattern that had interesting shaping and style lines for a simple top. The button placement is brilliant. Excellent drafting. I lengthened it about 2.5 inches. I’ll make it again .

Well crafted pattern in which all the pieces fit together very well. I added a elbow length sleeve and kept the front construction the same but put an overlapped seam down the front to prevent that horrible fear of gaps or unbuttoned buttons All of the changes worked well and I love this comfortable and stylish dress!

I recently made the Monty Top using TomKat Stitchery’s Sew along on Youtube. It was my first time making a collar and a front opening with so many buttons! I do not know if I could have done it without TomKat and wouldn’t call it easy for sure. I made it out of a loosely woven wool fabric and regret it as my washer nearly ruined it during the first cycle. Not a fault of the pattern but something I would recommend you watch out for in choosing your fabric! Very cropped, a plus for me.

A lovely blouse, but the poor instructions were pretty much useless. A pattern marked as easy ought to have a much more detailed instruction as many moments were not easy., not even for a semi-experiensed sewist.
The marks on the pattern ought to have some kind of explanation.

How Do I Know What Size I Am?
Choosing your pattern size is the most important step and we will help you determine this with these easy to follow steps.
When taking your measurements ensure that you take them against your skin and not over clothing. One can wear a comfortable bra and knickers whilst measuring, as this will provide you with the most accurate measurements.
Tape measure has to sit firmly around the points you are measuring. But be careful not to pull it too tight, as this will give you the incorrect size.
When measuring circumferences (B, C, D, E) it is important to note that the tape measure must remain parallel to the floor. It is sometimes best to take the measurements in front of a mirror; this will help you see the angle of the tape measure.
You will only require the basic body measurements to determine your pattern size which is indicated on our mannequin below:
A. Shoulder Breadth
Place the tape at the edge of the shoulder. Measure along the top of the shoulder blade/across the highest point of the shoulders to the other edge, following the natural slope and allow an extra finger for ease of any movement.
B. Upper Arm Girth
This point is taken as a circumference at your widest point of your upper arm.
C. Bust
This point is taken as a circumference parallel to the floor at the fullest part of your chest.
D. Waist
This point is taken as a circumference and taken at the smallest part of your waist.
E. Hip
This point is taken as a circumference parallel to the floor at the widest part of your hips.
