I put these on today and they fit so well, it is so nice not to have to adjust pants to fit.
I made a wearable muslin out of wool suiting but with a faux fly and elastic waist as I wanted to see how they fit. No changes necessary except for the length which I usually have to shorten, and I removed 3 cm from the pleats to allow them to fit over my hips with the elastic waist. I did also leave off the pleated cuff but used a double fold hem to give the hem some weight.
I am really pleased with how these turned out and I plan to make another pair soon. I did watch the YouTube video by TomKat where she lines them and also uses a simpler method for the fly with a grown on fly shield.

Instructions very scant in detail. I ended up having to watch a YouTube Spencer pant tutorial. I did check before buying the pattern as to whether they were high waisted and was told they sit on the natural waistline, I either have a very high waist or they are in fact high waisted. Should i attempt a second pair I will amend pattern to remove the front pleat as its not flattering.

The pants are fabulous, not too big in the bum, if you have narrower hips like me pleated pants are often too puffy in the bum, I did sew down the pleats for about 5cm, just so they did not pop out. I used a piece of fabric I have had for 25 years, a beautiful piece of Italian Suiting.
Love the pocket detail which is what drew me the pants in the first place.
Although the instructions are scant the fly is quite straight forward and went into place easily, overall love the pants, Easy sew, very long in the leg so if you are tall you will have not issue with length. I did omit the cuff as i am already short so do not need to appear any shorter. Would I make them again, i certainly would.

How Do I Know What Size I Am?
Choosing your pattern size is the most important step and we will help you determine this with these easy to follow steps.
When taking your measurements ensure that you take them against your skin and not over clothing. One can wear a comfortable bra and knickers whilst measuring, as this will provide you with the most accurate measurements.
Tape measure has to sit firmly around the points you are measuring. But be careful not to pull it too tight, as this will give you the incorrect size.
When measuring circumferences (B, C, D, E) it is important to note that the tape measure must remain parallel to the floor. It is sometimes best to take the measurements in front of a mirror; this will help you see the angle of the tape measure.
You will only require the basic body measurements to determine your pattern size which is indicated on our mannequin below:
A. Shoulder Breadth
Place the tape at the edge of the shoulder. Measure along the top of the shoulder blade/across the highest point of the shoulders to the other edge, following the natural slope and allow an extra finger for ease of any movement.
B. Upper Arm Girth
This point is taken as a circumference at your widest point of your upper arm.
C. Bust
This point is taken as a circumference parallel to the floor at the fullest part of your chest.
D. Waist
This point is taken as a circumference and taken at the smallest part of your waist.
E. Hip
This point is taken as a circumference parallel to the floor at the widest part of your hips.
