I loved making this oversized coat! I made it in a heavier weight plaid check flannel and it turned out AMAZING! i made it according to my bust measurements but because it is so oversized i will make the next size down next time. I didn’t make a seam down the back, I cut the back on the fold instead. using the check plaid, i should have cut the sleeves on the fold too instead of having a seam, my plaid was a little bit off but it didn’t detract from my gorgeous new cozy coat! I thought the instructions were very straight forward and easy to follow. The only thing I didn’t do was the faced hem on the bottom. it was very long on me so i just shortened it up by making a 3 inch hem, worked wonderfully! I have gotten so many compliments! Thank you for the lovely pattern!

I am an experienced seamstress and I had no problem sewing and making modifications to the pattern. I used a shower curtain I had held on to waiting for just the right pattern this pattern which turned out to be this one that was perfect and exactly what I was looking for. And it worked out perfectly.

The instructions are very sparce, even when also using the tutorial available on the website. Some parts were not very clear and referred to things that were not marked on the pattern clearly. I wouldn’t recommend it for beginners for this reason. Also, the price is quite steep given you don’t’ get the full range of sizes on the PDF, you have to choose between 3 size ranges, most PDF companies give you access to all the sizes and far more detailed instructions.

Hi there, Naomi. We are sorry if some of our cons were not clear enough. We are always open to feedback or all to happy to help if you reach out on email. You can contact us at enquiries@stylearc.com.au
And we wouldn’t recommend this pattern for beginners either, as it is marked for a medium level sewist. Thanks again for your purchase.
