The simplicity of this pattern is the key to this designer dress. The wide side drape falls softly into the narrow hemline. You will love the flattering collar that sits high on the neck and continues into the front “V” insert panel. This is such a comfortable, easy dress to wear with a designer look.

Love the dress. Standing collar and the way dress drapes. Collar was tricky to make- last part of it, but succeeded. 4 stars because tutorial could be better, but model earns 5 stars.

I love the collar but rather tight across my chest. I would have liked the pattern not to have a front and back seam so it “flows” better.

EXCELLENT Pattern, easy to follow. Collar is fantastic, as is the drape. I agree that shortening it a bit makes it easier to wear in woven fabrics. Get compliments every time I wear it!

Absolutely delighted with this pattern. It all came together very easily and quickly.i made it in a dark blue and white print and am now cutting it out in a small white spot on a red background. This is probably my forth stylearc pattern. I have been very pleased with them.

Nice collar style but it was huge – I have had to copy and re-cut the pattern to get a normal-looking size in order to wear the collar standing up and looking similar to the pattern drawing.

I’ve made this dress 3 times now. The collar looks beautiful and it’s so flattering. Personally I learned the wings at the side on the bottom and shortened it quite a lot but I adore it!
I have it in denim, linen and crepe and intend to alter the pattern again to make a shirt with the top half.
Definitely tack the neck before sewing but it’s not as hard as you might think.
Beautiful modern, elegant dress.

I love this dress! I made it out of a lightweight, relatively stable jersey and it drapes nicely. I easily wear a size 30, but this dress makes me look a few sizes smaller. The pictures were for making the collar were easy to follow. I will definitely be making a few more, one for evening use…

Even for an experienced sewer this dress was a little tricky in parts – particularly ensuring the neckline was flat and even. However, the result was well worth it and I love the drape effect. I tend to wear the collar folded down a little as I like the look. I did take it in a little around the waistline to give it a little more shape as I found it to be a little loose on me.
I made it from a soft summer fabric and I am now looking forward to wearing it again in the hot weather in our Aussie summer..

A beautifully draped dress. I’ve had compliments! The base of the neck was a bit tricky – I would tack it first, next time, before sewing. I prefer wearing it with the collar down, but discovered that this opened up the vee more and showed more cleavage than I am comfortable with, so I sewed up a few centimetres and then sewed several buttons along it. Looks fabulous.

I made this dress in a rayon poplin paisley print. I LOVE the dress… it was my favorite until the weather turned colder this month, and I will be making it again.. The only thing that could make it better would be if there were an option to add a sleeve, for two reasons. One is that I am not fond of the bare arm look, and the other is that I plan to make it up in a wool challis and wear it in winter as well, and I’d rather spend the time sewing than figuring out how to do that on my own. .

How Do I Know What Size I Am?
Choosing your pattern size is the most important step and we will help you determine this with these easy to follow steps.
When taking your measurements ensure that you take them against your skin and not over clothing. One can wear a comfortable bra and knickers whilst measuring, as this will provide you with the most accurate measurements.
Tape measure has to sit firmly around the points you are measuring. But be careful not to pull it too tight, as this will give you the incorrect size.
When measuring circumferences (B, C, D, E) it is important to note that the tape measure must remain parallel to the floor. It is sometimes best to take the measurements in front of a mirror; this will help you see the angle of the tape measure.
You will only require the basic body measurements to determine your pattern size which is indicated on our mannequin below:
A. Shoulder Breadth
Place the tape at the edge of the shoulder. Measure along the top of the shoulder blade/across the highest point of the shoulders to the other edge, following the natural slope and allow an extra finger for ease of any movement.
B. Upper Arm Girth
This point is taken as a circumference at your widest point of your upper arm.
C. Bust
This point is taken as a circumference parallel to the floor at the fullest part of your chest.
D. Waist
This point is taken as a circumference and taken at the smallest part of your waist.
E. Hip
This point is taken as a circumference parallel to the floor at the widest part of your hips.
