I really wanted to love this short, but it did not match expectations. I’m pear shaped, so the sizing was all off. I normally fit in a 10 in SA pants, but I had to take at least 2 inches off the waist. You should pick your size depending on your waist, not hips. The leg openings are SO WIDE that it looks like you’re wearing a skort. I took probably 5 inches out of the crotch and 8 inches from each of the leg openings to make it look more tailored. One I did all that, though, they do look pretty cute.
I’ll probably make another set but redraft the size 8 pattern with the changes that I made above. I also put in an invisible zipper (highly suggested for a professional look), and I topstitched a few seams, plus did a blind hem on the shorts.
The instructions for this were light but fine. It’s not a difficult piece to sew together.
