Choosing your pattern size is the most important step and we will help you determine this with these easy to follow steps.
Place the tape at the edge of the shoulder. Measure along the top of the shoulder blade/across the highest point of the shoulders to the other edge, following the natural slope and allow an extra finger for ease of any movement.
This point is taken as a circumference at your widest point of your upper arm.
This point is taken as a circumference parallel to the floor at the fullest part of your chest.
This point is taken as a circumference and taken at the smallest part of your waist.
This point is taken as a circumference parallel to the floor at the widest part of your hips.

I left a review when I made this skirt (twice) in a linen visose blend which i was really happy with. I am updating to say that I have now made a version out of 4 way stretch faux suede so i have an autumn / winter version of this skirt and I am totally smitten. Using a knit fabric has a little more drape so emphasises the flattering folds on the skirt 10/10

We love hearing how you’ve continued experimenting with Haven Woven skirt in different fabrics! The four-way stretch faux suede sounds like a great choice for an autumn/winter version. We really appreciate you taking the time to return and update your review as you explore new fabric options. Your experience offers great inspiration for other sewists looking to try something different with the pattern. Thank you!

I loved this skirt and have now made 2 already! I lengthen it by 5 cm and on the second on I top stitched all of the seams. The 2 I have made are from linen. I am going to make a faux suede one as a winter skirt

Hi Julie,
Thank you so much for your lovely review!
We’re thrilled to hear you’ve already made two Haven skirts, and we love the changes you made to personalise each one.
The linen versions sound perfect for summer, and a faux suede Haven for winter sounds absolutely gorgeous!
Thank you for sharing your makes and for the inspiration. We hope you love your winter version just as much!

I made Haven out of a mid-weight woven hemp. Really love it! It was a super easy and quick make, just a couple of hours in total. It flows and swirls in a lovely way. I think it would be best in a somewhat soft cloth.
I adjusted it by flaring out the waist a bit then adding a partially elasticized waistband for comfort.
