I love the finished top. I would classify myself as experience at sewing but this is the first time I have fought with a Style Arc pattern.
But with saying that it may have been my fabric choice, I chose a satin chiffon the problems I had were:
– The Tucks on the sleeve, after unpicking several times I ended up pinning and sewing one tuck at a time. Also do not clip the hemline too deeply as I di as it was impossible to use a hemming foot – it would be best to use chalk.
– The Sleeves, I think after playing with the tucks so much my sleeve head fabric stretched as they did not fit the notches well. Also when I was sewing the side/ under sleeve seam I had all sorts of trouble. the result is that I have had to do a fair amount of seam clipping to have the top fall correctly.
– The instructions state “pin the hem band to the lower edge of the body .. …..stitch the band…”. There is not hem band.
So my suggestion is choose your fabric wisely, use your patience and be prepared to go off script and use your skills.
I would make this top again as it stunning and yes I would use a satin chiffon fabric again now that I am aware of the pitfalls.
I hope my suggestions are helpful, Enjoy.

I had a bit of trouble figuring out the sleeve detail at first, but as this was my first experience with the Style Arc pattern format, I’ll blame it on inexperience. (Besides, those pretty sleeves with their comfy dropped shoulders are *worth it*.) The pieces fit together perfectly and I especially like the well-annotated pattern – it’s faster and easier to make any necessary adjustments. The first top I made fits beautifully, and I’ll definitely make more!

a lovely simple top that I made sleeveless for summer in a bright print, so needed not to be a fussy style – perfect. looking forward to making with sleeves for cooler weather.

A little disappointed with this pattern as it is not as per the illustration. No darts and very dropped sleeves. In my opinion, the picture is not a true reflection of the pattern purchased.
