I made a wearable toile from woollen remnants 45 years old out of my Mum’s sewing stash, which meant adjusting the length, adding a seam to get the full sleeve length & omitting the centre back seam.
The result is a jaunty little jacket of which will team well with my wider leg pants for winter!
The directions were easy to follow & my only hassle was the thickness of the 2 layers of thick wool to get under the machine foot.
I’ll definitely be using this pattern multiple times!

My daughter was leaving for a winter holiday in the south from warm North Queensland and I made the Wren for her to wear out of a thick knit.
A very easy make I graded the shoulders from 16 to 24 on the hips.
Pockets were made oversized as the pattern ones were very small.

I made the Wren in a beautiful berry coloured coral fleece that I’d originally made into a poncho but never wore.
I omitted the pockets, used snaps along with large buttons instead of sewing buttonholes, and top stitched the inside of the facings rather than on the edge of the garment.
I’m so pleased with my finished jacket and have had several compliments from complete strangers.
Thank you Style Arc, yet another winning design!

I made this in a lightweight quilted cotton fabric. I shortened it by 5cm/ 2″ so that it sat above my hips and also shortened the sleeves by the same amount – short arms! I made the size 14, rather than my standard size 16, as I didn’t want it too oversized. I bound the front and neck edges with bias made from fabric left over from a previous make. Very happy with the results.

I made this in a lightweight crinkle linen. Because of the give I had to reduce the size. I self fringed the sleeves & hem & added vintage buttons. Really pleased wth the result in steamy Brisbane.
