I made these in Denim – love love them. I made a straight 12 with no adjustments, I particularly like the elastic waist it is not too gathered and provides a personal fit.
Be prepared for a lot of top stitching but it is well worth the effort – it provides stunning detail.
The only alterations I made was I used 30cm elastic in the waistband as the denim was rather bulky and worked out perfectly. 35mm elastic is not the easiest elastic to buy.
Note that the Pattern piece for the Belt Loops is too short – you require 5 belt loops, therefore you need to extend this pattern piece by 8cm.
I am looking forward to making another pair in linen and will alter the waist band width to fit 32mm elastic.
A FABULOUS well drafted pattern, and is worth the patience that is required.
Thank you.

The last garment of 2024 was these pants and I´m so happy!! Highlight are the comfort of the pants and the design! Love them! I´m always on a quest to create comfy clothes so here they are… Barrel leg, flat front waist, elastic at the back (comfy alert!), fantastics details… It makes them look like a casual dress pant but with the comfort of an elastic waist in the back. I hacked a little bit the pattern, adding two more loops for a better fastening of a possible belt and I’ve modified their distribution a little bit according to the pattern. I’ve also shortened the hem a bit, although I think I’ll keep them longer for the next ones.

I have made these pants three times and am pleased with the result. The silhouette is trendy and the fit is perfect. I did shorten the legs 3″ and made the pockets larger after my test garment. I found the opening to the pocket a bit small so will enlarge it in the future.

My new favourite trouser! Made my normal size but used french seams so a little more than the recommended 1cm used in seams. Shortened by 1.5” as i’m short! Will make these again most definitely!

Lovely pattern! Made a size 14 waist graded to 18 hips (according to body measurements / size chart) and the fit is spot on. I was worried since other reviewers found them too big, but I am glad that I didn’t size down. I used cotton canvas, which is a nice choice for this pattern. I recommend adding all the topstitching.
Instructions are okay-ish. I know what to expect from Style Arc, but next time I won’t follow the zipper instructions.

I loved this pattern. I went down a size based on my body measurements and shortened the legs by 3″. They fit beautifully and are very flattering.
