This was a fun top to sew. It’s quite easy and can be done with or without the lacing; I made it both ways. The only ‘tricky’ part is putting on the neck facing & even then, it really isn’t problematic. I made a ‘dummy tab’ which I attached to a ‘dummy shirt’ as I run through before I cut into the real shirt that I was making. I guessed that the sewn edge should be stopped approximately 1/2″ from the bottom edge so the tab was sewn down to where I placed my lower shirt snips; then I turned the tab so it would look like the overlapped picture & then sewed from the clipped ‘shirt’ through the ‘tab’ which was about a straight 2 1/3″ horizontal seam to make the bottom attachment of the tab & shirt. It worked like a charm. As a visual learner, I need to look at pictures & then make a dummy model before my final sew. Obviously, not everyone learns this way, but it helps me. I zipped up the rest of the tops & they came out beautifully.
