Just finished this top in a rayon fabric. It is soft and cool for the hot days ahead. The pattern was easy to make up but like a lot of people on here, the cap sleeves are not suiting me, so I think I will take them off and either bias bind them or just turn them back with the coverstitch machine. I will see how it goes after I have worn it once. But as always a great fit. Now to my next project – the Reece Tunic!

This was a quick & easy top to sew up. In fact I like the idea of a faced hem on the curved hemline, it is so much easier. Have made a couple, one of which was sleeveless as I needed a quick cami style top & didn’t have a suitable pattern. It worked perfectly. Thanks Style Arc

The pattern suggests silk, rayon, cotton and linen, but a previous reviewer noted that knits are suitable. This was helpful. I made this pattern first by re-purposing a linen dress, skipping the hem facing. The second time I used a knit, replaced the little sleeve with a band, skipped the hem facing and made a lapped neck band. Because I’m a little hippy, I widened the pattern slightly in the hip area. Both tops are lovely. I’ve worn the knit one regularly and will enjoy the linen one as soon as summer arrives in Canada.

To date, I have made 4 Parker’s with my FBA. I have used rayon batiks and cotton batiks. I am not as fan of cap sleeves so on all I have made a bias trim for the sleeve and neckline areas. Due to the limited yardage I have been working with, I have not made a hem facing. One on my go to patterns for tops!!

I loved this pattern and made it in both a chambray and a gauzy patterned fabric.
Unlike clever ‘sew4fun’ I didn’t do a FBA because I was a bit scared to but I wish I could get the courage to try!!😂
The little cap sleeves are cute but when I make this top again, I’ll either bind the armholes or make short sleeves.
Your patterns are fantastic thank you. They’re accurate and simple to make.
    I’m a convert.

This is such a simple and easy top to make – love it! The 10mm and 6mm seam allowances made sewing so easy. I downloaded, taped the pattern together, cut and sewed this pattern in a day. The fit was fantastic, only needing my usual full bust adjustment which was super easy to do on this pattern.

I made my top using a very soft 100% cotton woven which was perfect, however next time I will leave the interfacing out of the hem facing. The cap sleeves weren’t flattering on me (although I still love them, just not on me) so I removed them and bound the armholes for a sleeveless top.

Highly recommend for a quick and simple project that fits with minimal alterations. I am already planning my second top.

I love this pattern. I’m always looking for a pattern with darts. The fit is perfect. I’ve made this in both a knit and a woven and it works up fast. I need one in every color!!

How Do I Know What Size I Am?

Choosing your pattern size is the most important step and we will help you determine this with these easy to follow steps.

  1. When taking your measurements ensure that you take them against your skin and not over clothing. One can wear a comfortable bra and knickers whilst measuring, as this will provide you with the most accurate measurements.
  2. Tape measure has to sit firmly around the points you are measuring. But be careful not to pull it too tight, as this will give you the incorrect size.
  3. When measuring circumferences (B, C, D, E) it is important to note that the tape measure must remain parallel to the floor. It is sometimes best to take the measurements in front of a mirror; this will help you see the angle of the tape measure.
  4. You will only require the basic body measurements to determine your pattern size which is indicated on our mannequin below:
A. Shoulder Breadth

Place the tape at the edge of the shoulder. Measure along the top of the shoulder blade/across the highest point of the shoulders to the other edge, following the natural slope and allow an extra finger for ease of any movement.

B. Upper Arm Girth

This point is taken as a circumference at your widest point of your upper arm.

C. Bust

This point is taken as a circumference parallel to the floor at the fullest part of your chest.

D. Waist

This point is taken as a circumference and taken at the smallest part of your waist.

E. Hip

This point is taken as a circumference parallel to the floor at the widest part of your hips.
