I have made 3 of these dresses. I’m 5ft 2” the length was perfect for my height first one I made to pattern directions. The v was a bit too wide for how I like my neck line, shoulders were about an inch too wide. These were nothing wrong with the pattern it was just my body shape. The next 2 dresses I narrowed the neck line, I took an inch off the shoulders and I changed the sleeves into a flutter sleeve. I truly love this pattern it was an easy sew my mother liked it so much that I now have to make her one as well. Highly recommend this pattern!

A fairly easy dress to sew.
I didn’t need the button & loop at the back opening, so I sewed the CB seam all the way up. ( I don’t like button loop closures and omit them wherever possible)
I used a lightweight printed cotton chambray from Pound Fabrics.

Loved this pattern. The sleeve is great for larger arm circumference. Did add 2inches to length ,I like my dress a little longer as I am older. Did miss a pocket though, I think I will add a side seam pocket next time I make it. Will definitely be making it again . Thanks Stylearc.

What a magnificent pattern, I have now made 4 of these dresses – linen, rayon, viscose & crepe – all drape beautifully.
I have played with the sleeves by removing the frill and levelling the hemline.
Both my daughter and I are 5’3″ medium build and found that we needed to grade the pattern from underneath the bustline to a size smaller it just looks more flattering on both of us, therefore from a 14 bust down to 12.
A pattern that is so on trend for summer 2022/23.
Yes there will be more of these made.

Super flattering and easy to make. Made two so far. Shortened both to make long tops. First made a checked gingham linen fabric which was a little too crisp for the style. Second make was a rayon Hawaiian fabric which draped beautifully!!! I raised the neckline 1 and 1/2 inches and it was perfect.

To ensure I was choosing the correct size a made a toile and liked it so much finished the dress, although I did not have enough fabric to create the flounce on the hem and sleeve, cut the sleeve straight and sewed a pleated band on the hem for interest. I did add a few inches to the pattern and was glad did and I am only 5’4″, turned out to the perfect length.
I made my actual dress using a 100% cotton lawn I received in a bespoke box “The Secret Garden” from The Dahlia Sewceity. Beautiful fabric and would certainly make this dress again, French seams finished off the dress well, very pleased with the outcome, I made a size 14. Thanks Deb

Lovely simple pattern. Very accommodating and cute style. I’ve made three! I dropped the bust dart by about an inch and lengthened the dress by about three inches. I’m only 5ft 4in but the original length was above the knee and I prefer on/just below. Really happy with them and planning more
Four stars because every dress needs pockets! Lol. Loved this quick and easy sew. I added length because I don’t wear anything above the knee. I made it up in Tana Lawn and it’s floaty, breezy, and so fun to wear. I get tons of compliments. And yes, I added an on seam pocket.
I made this dress in contrasting cottons. I didn’t use the directions because I have enough experience to sew a shift dress without them. The fit was perfect but I always add to the length because I am older and prefer a longer length. This pattern is so cute and I will make more “Pixie” dresses in the future.

It’s a cute dress when finished but the instructions were scant at best. I could have used tips on how to hem such a curvy flounce. I wound up serging the edge and adding lace.

I really enjoyed making this dress. I used a rayon/viscose blend and I think it turned out really cute. I found the instructions easy to follow. I’m 5’9″ and made a size 10 and it was a good length for me to feel comfortable. It’s also nice and spacious in the sleeves. This will be a go-to for me this summer and I will probably make it again in a few more fabrics. This is also a pretty quick project and only took me a day of actual sewing (one day of prep work to print things out, tape, and cut out) Very fun!

Nice, easy pattern which I made as a top rather than a dress. Sleeve ruffles are nice and understated. The V neck is a little low and I would think about a round neck if doing it again. I cut the back on the fold and omitted the back neck opening.

I copied the pattern off as an AO but because copying in colour is expensive I copied it in black and white which made it difficult to follow some of the cutting lines. I have yet to sew the Pixie but don’t anticipate there will be any problems.

Very well drafted pattern! I made it out of a stretchy light weight gauze, and I used my serger rolled hem to finish the hem and sleeves. Be aware, the dress is VERY short! I added 2 inches, and even without the standard hem it comes just to my knees. It will be a great summer dress and beach coverup.

How Do I Know What Size I Am?
Choosing your pattern size is the most important step and we will help you determine this with these easy to follow steps.
When taking your measurements ensure that you take them against your skin and not over clothing. One can wear a comfortable bra and knickers whilst measuring, as this will provide you with the most accurate measurements.
Tape measure has to sit firmly around the points you are measuring. But be careful not to pull it too tight, as this will give you the incorrect size.
When measuring circumferences (B, C, D, E) it is important to note that the tape measure must remain parallel to the floor. It is sometimes best to take the measurements in front of a mirror; this will help you see the angle of the tape measure.
You will only require the basic body measurements to determine your pattern size which is indicated on our mannequin below:
A. Shoulder Breadth
Place the tape at the edge of the shoulder. Measure along the top of the shoulder blade/across the highest point of the shoulders to the other edge, following the natural slope and allow an extra finger for ease of any movement.
B. Upper Arm Girth
This point is taken as a circumference at your widest point of your upper arm.
C. Bust
This point is taken as a circumference parallel to the floor at the fullest part of your chest.
D. Waist
This point is taken as a circumference and taken at the smallest part of your waist.
E. Hip
This point is taken as a circumference parallel to the floor at the widest part of your hips.
