   I agree with all the above comments regarding errors in the pattern. Fortunately they are obvious to someone with reasonable sewing experience but it is really unacceptable given that this pattern has been around for some time now, so StyleArc people you need to fix it! Especially instruction to lay the raw edge of pocket the wrong way would really ruin jacket for someone who had never made a welt pocket before. Aside from that, it is a stylish jacket and a great fit, not needing much alteration. Intend taking mine on next holiday as it will be very versatile.

   Im finally getting ready to make this jacket. Already finding errors in instructions misnaming pattern pieces, incorrect directions, and I’m only up to step 3! But i love the pattern and thankfully i have long experience sewing.

   Love this jacket but there were a number of errors in the instructions, as already mentioned. Plus you need 13 jean buttons not 12.

   So far so good, but there is a typo in the pattern instructions AND the online tutorial. When sewing the welt to the body, the instructions say “Sew the welt to the side front where marked on the pattern, with the raw edges facing the centre front.” but the online tutorial picture clearly shows the raw edges facing the side edge. If you sew it in place with the raw edges facing the centre front the welt opens the wrong way!

   This Jacket came together very easily which was not what I expected.. instructions a bit sparse but I watched a few you tube tutorials for some parts .. lovely result tho and i downsized one size after reading reviews as It is oversized!

   Will definately be making again tho

   Fantastic pattern. Nice and straightforward to put together except for the pockets however there are several online tutorials showing how to do them. Finish off the pocket edges before attaching them as it’s messy to do them afterwards. It’s a loose fit and allows for extra layers underneath. It’s a fantastic pattern and I will definitely make another one.

   The jacket was relatively easy to sew but only because I found a tutorial on you tube to help each step of the way. More visual instructions eg diagrams would have been helpful

How Do I Know What Size I Am?

Choosing your pattern size is the most important step and we will help you determine this with these easy to follow steps.

1. When taking your measurements ensure that you take them against your skin and not over clothing. One can wear a comfortable bra and knickers whilst measuring, as this will provide you with the most accurate measurements.
2. Tape measure has to sit firmly around the points you are measuring. But be careful not to pull it too tight, as this will give you the incorrect size.
3. When measuring circumferences (B, C, D, E) it is important to note that the tape measure must remain parallel to the floor. It is sometimes best to take the measurements in front of a mirror; this will help you see the angle of the tape measure.
4. You will only require the basic body measurements to determine your pattern size which is indicated on our mannequin below:

A. Shoulder Breadth

Place the tape at the edge of the shoulder. Measure along the top of the shoulder blade/across the highest point of the shoulders to the other edge, following the natural slope and allow an extra finger for ease of any movement.

B. Upper Arm Girth

This point is taken as a circumference at your widest point of your upper arm.

C. Bust

This point is taken as a circumference parallel to the floor at the fullest part of your chest.

D. Waist

This point is taken as a circumference and taken at the smallest part of your waist.

E. Hip

This point is taken as a circumference parallel to the floor at the widest part of your hips.
