I have made a test garment of this pattern out of an old sheet to test for size and fullness at the arms. The first thing that needs altering is the neckline which is a few centimeters too high for me, I tried one sleeve with two flounces and one sleeve with one, but decided two is better. The final version is still waiting to be made but I am looking forward to it.

I have made this pattern from a rayon remnant as a test garment and a very light weight cotton lawn for the ‘good’ version. Both are gorgeous additions to my wardrobe and very flattering. I made a thread loop for the button as I didn’t like the fabric loop. I did scratch my head a bit art the assembly of the sleeve flounces but worked it out. I used French seams for the cotton lawn and it was worth the extra effort. The fit is excellent.

Made 2 versions of the Harmony top! Loved the style and pattern! Made in a mild stretch fabric and in a woven gingham. Love style arc patterns and design concept. Often instructions are less than shop bought patterns but if you know how to sew you will manage fine plus they do add pictures for possible difficult parts. Hacked gingham to suit my style and adjusted bust darts. I would buy soooooo many patterns if I could. I really love this pattern, particularly the sleeves. I did have to make a couple of changes – I lengthened the sleeve flounces a little to make the sleeves longer and I changed the neckline to a ‘v’ shape as high necklines don’t suit me. My next Harmony project will be to convert it to a dress. I’ll shorten the length and add a gathered skirt to it. Can’t wait!

Lovely top to wear I did not need to make any alterations true to size. The sleeves were a bit tricky, as the instructions were not clear, but after laying it all out on the table and seeing how it should all go together it went together easily. Made the top for our Salsa group dancing and paired it with a pair of white cullottes all made by me. Will be making more.

I do love how this top looks as a finished product, it’s very pretty. However, I give only four stars because the instructions are not great. Fine if you are an experienced sewist but can be confusing. Also I had issues with the sleeves being too fitted to allow my arms to raise up comfortably without pulling at the blouse.. I had to make the sleeves much wider at the opening to allow my arms to raise up. I have to raise my arms a lot for my job, so it’s perhaps not something the average person worries about.

This is my first Style Arc pattern and the cut of the garment is fabulous. I have used many brands of patterns and am delighted to find this one! Great fit across the bust, enough room in the sleeve head and the ruffles are not too full. Easy construction, but then i am an experienced seamstress so didn’t worry with the instructions. I can see that a beginner may struggle with the limited direction. I found the hip allowance a little wide (but then i am narrow there and it is an easy adjustment). I would recommend this design and will certainly be making it again.

This is a fun top with it’s on-trend focus on the sleeve and the length is just right for summer – covers the elbows but not so long that the flounces would dangle in your food or the dish washing water! In the instructions it might have been good to mention that the upper flounce wrong side should be sown to the right side of the middle section. (Obviously I had to ‘reverse’ stitch that bit.)

Wonderful pattern for a trendy blouse! The pattern is pretty straightforward and came together quickly. I used a drapey light-medium weight crepe and I think it would also be lovely in lighter weight floaty fabrics. I will be making another soon!

How Do I Know What Size I Am?
Choosing your pattern size is the most important step and we will help you determine this with these easy to follow steps.
When taking your measurements ensure that you take them against your skin and not over clothing. One can wear a comfortable bra and knickers whilst measuring, as this will provide you with the most accurate measurements.
Tape measure has to sit firmly around the points you are measuring. But be careful not to pull it too tight, as this will give you the incorrect size.
When measuring circumferences (B, C, D, E) it is important to note that the tape measure must remain parallel to the floor. It is sometimes best to take the measurements in front of a mirror; this will help you see the angle of the tape measure.
You will only require the basic body measurements to determine your pattern size which is indicated on our mannequin below:
A. Shoulder Breadth
Place the tape at the edge of the shoulder. Measure along the top of the shoulder blade/across the highest point of the shoulders to the other edge, following the natural slope and allow an extra finger for ease of any movement.
B. Upper Arm Girth
This point is taken as a circumference at your widest point of your upper arm.
C. Bust
This point is taken as a circumference parallel to the floor at the fullest part of your chest.
D. Waist
This point is taken as a circumference and taken at the smallest part of your waist.
E. Hip
This point is taken as a circumference parallel to the floor at the widest part of your hips.
