Well designed and sews together relatively quickly into a flattering dress. Suggest the guidance of the fabric requirements is a little optimistic. I’m trying to cut my second one, a size 14, from 2m of small directional print and really struggling with pattern tetris. I’d certainly recommend using at least another 20cm and probably a little more. Lost a star for this reason.

I like the way the bodice looks with the cross-over pieces that tie in the back. I think it’s very flattering. It looks more complicated than it turned out to be. It went together quite fast and easy. I made VERY few minor alterations. I made it in a lightweight polyester charmeuse. It’s best to use a very drapey fabric because you don’t want the bodice drape to be bulky.

An interesting design and I’m really pleased with how it turned out. It’s first outing was to a birthday lunch and was perfect, especially after a long lunch. It’s so comfortable, the sort of dress you put on and forget about. It looked good all day long. I made it from a viscose with a slight crepe. Great for travelling as it doesn’t crease or need ironing. This fabric has been in my stash for almost a year as I wanted to find the right pattern for it. I love the print but only had two metres so it was a bit of a challenge to pattern match the front seam. The only change to the pattern I made was to lengthen the ties a little and omitted the topstitching of the front seam as I didn’t want to draw attention to the seam. https://instagram.com/p/Bh8b0tcB2dx/
