Just finished the Smith jacket this morning. Love, love , love it!!!! The instructions ARE a bit tricky in parts but that’s part of Style Arc’s charm. The jacket is amazing in cream linen. I followed Alex Judge Sews YouTube channel for the burrito method yoke and I sewed and topstitched the cuffs to the sleeves before sewing the sleeve seam. The diagram relating to the insertion of the sleeves shows gathering stitches but I didn’t find this necessary with a bit( a big bit) of fiddling. Style Arc, I love you!

Great jacket! I struggled with the instructions for the placket but I made it work. I made a size 6 and lengthened the body 2 inches and had to make a wider cuff to lengthen the sleeves.

I made this loose fitting jacket in an olive green 100% linen. It has military vibe to the style and the color suits it. This pattern does have quite a few instructions with pictures included as well as a tutorial posted on the SA website. I think the instructions and tutorial help but not completely, fortunately I am a very experienced sewer so I was able to figure out all the tricky parts eventually. The only adjustment I made was to shortened the sleeves about 2 1/2 inches and the body length 1!/2 inch and the jacket fits perfect in a size 12. I gave it 5 stars because of the styling, the directions I would give a 4. Very fun jacket/shirt for fall! I will make it again for early spring in a mauve linen.
